Durable Construction for Lasting Performance
Every metal mounting head we offer is crafted from a single casting, guaranteeing superior mechanical strength. Additionally, these metal components feature a special ribbing, which makes the entire structure rigid and ensures years of reliable service.
Attaching the mounting head to a tire changer is straightforward. These components typically have either two or four holes, requiring only simple fastening in the dedicated spot on the tire changing machine.
Types of Mounting Heads: Helping Your Customers Choose the Right One
There are two main types of tire changer mounting heads, categorized by their material:
- Metal mounting heads
- Composite mounting heads
Metal mounting heads offer greater versatility and significantly higher durability than composite versions. They are particularly resilient when dealing with the stresses that can arise during the mounting of stiff tires, such as run-flats. Metal mounting heads are highly resistant to damage.
While a mounting head isn't an expensive component that would cause significant financial losses if damaged, it's always better to invest in a durable part that will last for years, right?
Does this mean composite mounting heads aren't worth considering? It depends! A plastic mounting head can be an excellent solution for working with aluminum wheels.
Why? Using composite mounting heads virtually eliminates the risk of scratching rims, especially aluminum ones. And ultimately, when working with valuable, large rims, every scratch is a concern.
Alternatively, your customers can still use metal mounting heads for alloy wheels; however, it's advisable to use additional composite protective pads for enhanced safety.
When selecting the right mounting head, your customers should primarily consider compatibility with their specific machine model, as mounting hole placements can vary. Our product descriptions will list the compatible models for each mounting head.
Why a Mounting Head is Indispensable for Tire Service
A tire changer mounting head is essential because it protects the tire and rim from potential damage caused by tension and the use of a tire lever. The operation is straightforward: the tire bead is positioned under the right side of the mounting head. Then, the foot pedal is pressed to rotate the turntable, allowing the tire to seat onto the rim. This procedure is repeated for the other part of the tire bead.
