Column lift - an essential piece of car service equipment
Just imagine performing car maintenance or repair jobs without a lift.
Pretty difficult, right?
You simply won’t be able to do a lot of tasks - sure, some engine work is possible. But suspension, exhaust system or even underbody repairs? Not really!
Even simple jobs like an oil change - especially when the filter is mounted at the bottom. Or fuel filter replacement. Or changing the muffler. And we could go on and on - the point is, a column lift is simply a must-have in any car service.
That’s why it’s worth considering getting a 2-post lift. Or a scissor lift. Our offer includes models at prices similar to what you’d pay for a used lift - but with brand-new equipment, you get the confidence of several years of reliable operation.
Importantly, REDATS offers models that match your needs and infrastructure - we have both single-phase (230V) and three-phase (400V) versions. What’s more, performance and working parameters are the same regardless of the power supply.
High stability and strength with scissor lifts
Scissor lifts are perfect for brake/wheel service. They’re also great for detailing or paint work.
Check out what REDATS scissor lifts offer in terms of lifting capacity and max height:
- L-520 - capacity: 3 tons; lifting height: 620 mm
- L-550 - capacity: 3 tons; lifting height: 960 mm
- L-600 - capacity: 3 tons; lifting height: 1850 mm
These types of lifts are actually better for tyre service than 2-post lifts because they’re more stable for this kind of job.
Why should your car service have a column lift?
It’s obvious, but we’ll say it anyway - a column car lift will significantly expand the range of services your car service can offer.
Before choosing a specific model, check the lifting capacity. For regular passenger cars, 4 tons will be enough, but if you occasionally service heavier vehicles (e.g. vans), it’s worth choosing a lift with a higher capacity - e.g. 5 tons.
What kind of column hydraulic lift will offer the most comfort? Definitely check the lifting height. The taller you are, the more it matters :)
Many ask - hydraulic or screw column lifts? We only offer hydraulic ones, and for good reason: they’re more affordable and have a simpler design.
One more thing - to ensure stability, a column lift needs to be not only securely anchored but also installed on a solid foundation. At REDATS, we offer hydraulic column lifts adapted to various types of flooring - both standard foundations and slightly thinner slabs.
To give you an idea - standard column car lifts only require a 30 cm thick floor. But if the floor where you want to install the lift is thinner, consider a model with a reinforced base frame - in that case, a 20 cm thick surface will do.
You’ll find more information about how to choose the best column lift, how to maintain it, and how to prepare your floor for installation - all on the REDATS blog.
