Car scissor lifts
( number of products: 10 )Which scissor lifts to choose? It depends! :)
A different lift will work best for a tire service, and another for general car repairs. Below you’ll find REDATS scissor lifts for various purposes!
Scissor lifts - precision and stable functionality
A scissor car lift is one of those car service essentials that’s hard to work without. Compared to a two-post lift, it offers much more convenience when working around wheels or tires.
These scissor lifts can raise a vehicle by around 1–2 meters, making wheel replacement easy. Here are the lifting heights for each model:
- L-520 - 620 mm
- L-550 - 960 mm
- L-600 - 1850 mm
Which scissor lift do we recommend for car repair services?
The L-600 model is the best choice - it has two independent platforms, offering comfortable access to the undercarriage. That means the same working comfort as a two-post lift. You’ll easily handle exhaust system repairs or even fuel filter replacement.
You often ask about the surface needed for installing a scissor car lift. It depends on the model. In most cases, 15 cm is required (L-550 and L-600), but there are exceptions - the REDATS L-520 mobile scissor lift doesn’t need to be fixed to the floor.
Keep in mind that scissor lifts require certification from local authorities!
Types of scissor lifts - capabilities and load capacity
All REDATS scissor lifts offer a lifting capacity of 3 tons. That means they can easily lift passenger cars and lighter delivery vehicles. Still, the right scissor lift depends mostly on how it will be used.
For tire service, a low-rise scissor car lift like the REDATS L-520 works best. It’s mobile - equipped with wheels - so it can be easily moved or placed wherever space is available in the car service.
Another good option for tire service is the REDATS L-550. This lift offers a lifting height of 960 mm. Like the smaller model, it’s mobile and easy to position wherever space allows.
Advantages of scissor lifts in tire services
Why use scissor lifts in tire service?
Because there’s no more convenient solution for wheel removal. These lifts raise cars just enough to allow easy access to the wheel, tire, or suspension. They’re also great for smaller jobs involving the lower parts of the vehicle (e.g. detailing).
It’s also worth mentioning the stability of this solution. A scissor lift installed in the floor provides solid support during lifting. There’s no “wobble” effect you might experience with portable tools.
One more thing: scissor lifts take up minimal space compared to two-post lifts. And when it comes to wheel replacement, their capabilities are practically the same – or even better. That’s why they’re a good option when looking for tire service equipment.
